We have a seven week rotation for our tapes with end of month tapes being removed from the rotation. Even with that there are times we wished we had a longer rotation. By the way, 400 gigabytes on one cartridge? Wow. We could probably use one tape to backup all of our systems for three nights. Donald R. Fisher, III Project Manager Roomstore Furniture Company (804) 784-7600 extension 2124 DFisher@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <clip> I know the "historic" and auditor approved standard for daily tape backup rotation has been 21 days. We just got the 3581-H23 in and it can go 400GB compressed on a single cartridge. This compares to the 7GB on the 9427 8mm drive we currently have. The cartridges also go for around $111.00 so I am being asked to ascertain we need 21 days, and would 14 be OK, etc. What is everyone else doing ? <clip>
