RE: 9404 Lost IPL Key

You could also remove the panel with the key and 'hot wire' it if necessary.
The rocker switch on my old E45 (yes, it still works) is failing.  A little
WD40 usually gets it working again, but on one occasion I pulled off the
panel and used a paper clip to get the machine booted up.
