Vern: I'm unclear on how DSPTAP *OUTFILE matches up with actual tape labels. Best might be read a few labels yourself (your programs or dumping labelled tapes as unlabelled) and start cross-referencing things you recognize. See if this gives you any help in deciphering: http://it-div-ds.web.cern.ch/it-div-ds/HO/labels.html I have an old .RTF document from a section of an old IBM MVS manual that describes IBM standard volume labels, but it's pretty ugly when trying to read it in Word 2000.
