RE: iSeries Access service packs

The PC client software is installed in your IFS.  If you are running
Netserver, you can share this directory and install/update from that
directory.  It is at root\QIBM\ProdData\CA400\Express.  There you will find
the Install, SSL if you have 5722CEx installed and the MRI folder for your
language(s).  Loading PTF automatically update these directories.  Yes there
are two parts to Client Access.  Of course there is the client software
store in the IFS as I list above, but there is also Server Software running,
5722-SS1 opt 12 Host Servers.  These programs are stored in library QIWS.
They are part a free part of OS400.  So one is probably the client side
software and the other the server side software.

We've always loaded iSeries Access service packs upon a w2k server.  Then 
we would change our iSeries Access properties to point to that server on 
the Service tab.  However we have an issue and IBM wants us to load 
SI08894 and SI08895 to 5722XE1 on our iSeries.  According to:

say to NOT be applying any service packs or components of iSeries access 
when applying these ptf's.  I -assume- that is because these ptf's would 
be updating the service directory on the iSeries that the clients would 
use to load the fixes from.  If so, what is the name of this directory?

Or, am I all confused and that there is a client side and a server side 
for the same ptf?
