Thanks, Ed. This is so typical - nuggets of gold squirreled away in the bowels of the documentation. I would never have thought to go searching for "password policies for DST". At the same time, I have to admit to not doing a thorough RTFM; had I simply searched infocenter on "DST password", the third entry was this page. However, it was not in the V5R1 infocenter. On the other hand, there really was quite a bit of good stuff there, including "Recovering DST passwords" and "Changing DST passwords", that kind of stuff. What I learned today was that not only can you reset the DST password if you have QSECOFR, but you can reset the QSCEOFR password if you have DST! Anyway, thanks for your post. Joe
