Jan,

Thanks for all the good advice. My multiple customer problem is usually
related to OS400 - connecting, logging on, finding an IFS folder, etc..

The biggest deal for me is to get the information from the iSeries to the
desktop folder - for speed. So, I need to find smart ways to get the file to
the PC. I am using several versions of OS400 - some as old as V3R1. From my
desktop application I have complete access to all OS400 APIs and any iSeries
program I can write. And therefore, all I need is the IP address of the
iSeries - so my world is a little different than driving from the big box
itself.

I usually cheat when integrating desktop applications. Since I am desktop
based, I just run file.csv or file.xls or file.doc and let windows handle
the application. I can get most applications that way - at least the ones I
am using.

Btw, I am not sure I can claim credit for that 2001 posting - but your
solution sounds interesting.

Trevor
