Trevor; 1) you can use CRTDIR and WRKLNK. 2) Grant authority to the directort with CHGAUT. 3) On Windows click NetworkNeighbourhood (or something like that), select a drive and put in: //IP address AS/400/home/ to connect to the /home folders. >From that on you can add folders from Explorer.
