Hi Rick, We're on V5R2 and had this same problem a couple of weeks ago after the network guys changed our IP address scheme. Like you, we got the insufficient authority message when trying to access anything below the machine name even though no changes were made to the security. I did a search of the V5R2 APARS using "QNTC" and found three PTFs we did not have loaded. Only one or two seemed remotely relevent but I Loaded and applied all three PTFs then did an IPL to activate the one that is considered an immediate apply but requires an IPL to allow it to take effect. QNTC has been working fine ever since. Still not sure if it was the PTFs or just the IPL that cleared things up since I've seen an earlier post that had a similar problem that was cleared up by the IPL alone. Good Luck, Brian +-------------------+ Greetings Group, I have some shares in qntc, but am unable to see anything beyond the machine name. This is because I have insufficient authority. OK, how do I get the authority? I have tried setting up a share on my pc and giving my iSeries UserId authority to it, but windows always prefixes the iSeries user I add with the '\\LocalMachineName\' and it still doesn't work. Can somebody point me to the proper book or give me a hint? This worked on my 620 w/o any special intervention on my part (that I recall) but won't work on my 810... Tia Rick
