Loyd, you might ask him if he'd let you use an IBM product that he already
has and owns.   I beat the drum for Visual Age RPG too regularly I know, but
when I see people thinking about Visual Basic for the iSeries it makes me
cringe.

1-You own VARPG
2-VARPG works, right now.
3-You know RPGIV (the language for VARPG)
4-Visual Basic projects have a reputation for never ending.

Not necessarily. I think the focus is on creating Windows-functional
applications that access/utilize AS/400 data. Developing
Internet/intranet-capable applications may be in the future, but does not
appear to be the primary focus.
