If time is an issue, I'd skip it. Of course, if you're planning on your upgrade to fail it would be nice to have a copy of your previous system already PTF-ed up, ready to go. Your call, but I'm an optimist when it comes to OS upgrades - gotta be. Apply what PTFs are on the box *PERM, IPL it, back it up, throw in the OS CD and let 'er rip. If there are prereq's, you'll obviously need to get them on tho - a whole cume can take hours (spin time, apply time, IPL time) - might not be worth it if you've got a finite amount of time. jch -----Original Message----- From: Mark Allen [mailto:mallen@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 2:37 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: V4R5 to V5R2 I've always done cumes, habit I guess -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Justin Haase Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 3:10 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: V4R5 to V5R2 And what kind of box?
