You have to be careful of generalizations. I still think 80% of disk space is a good idea. Not only performance, but the slothness of decision making may cause problems if you wait until much higher than that. As soon as you get more, get back into STRSST and lower your threshold. Back to generalizations... If you base performance strictly on the 80% full you'll have problems. There may be a difference between someone at 80% full with 200 disk drives and someone at 80% full and 4 disk drives.
