>> Production data grows, but not at a rapid pace. That statement doesn't correlate with the 6% growth in three weeks which you refer to later. 6% of 256GB is roughly 15GB, so you are growing at 5GB/week. >> What kills me is to have 15 copies of >> production data (via month end, year end, and other test environments) scattered >> across multiple libraries and the users "can't do" without this data being available all of the time. It seems to me that there is your club. If you are at 80% by month end, you will be at 85% or higher in another month or so. You will start to see performance degrade. At that point, you can make propose the choice - - more disk or lose instances of the data. Something tells me you will be working on Memorial Day! >>> dsnyder@xxxxxxxxxx 03/06/03 12:38PM >>> - I seem to remember a rule of thumb: 70% - Plan for disk 80% - Order disk 90% - Install disk I like those guidelines. We should not need to add a controller or raid set. We did that the last time we added disk. Just need the drives. Production data grows, but not at a rapid pace. What kills me is to have 15 copies of production data (via month end, year end, and other test environments) scattered across multiple libraries and the users "can't do" without this data being available all of the time. 74% is ok now but I know by the end of the month I will be around 80%.
