It sounds as though you are describing the size of the library object,
not the size of the library and its contents.  I don't think that you can
make the size of the library object any smaller, but you could certainly
rename the library, create a new library with the old name, and then move
the 50 remaining objects to the new library.  The new library would be
smaller.
