LANSA has indicated that VL will run in a browser in a future release (maybe next year). LANSA has been pretty good over the years in delivering promised functionality. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces+ddunfie=net-link.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+ddunfie=net-link.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Mark Villa Sent: Friday, February 14, 2003 5:58 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Lansa vs. Plex ~~~Yes, Lansa can be deployed without one extra stitch of code, ~~~but not only is ~~~it "not fancy", it's terrible. I meant that "after" you do all the HTML and JavaScript then deploy, you don't have to go through all this again on another platform, or change any Rapid Maintenance/Development Language code to make it work. With most of the other tools I have been querying, I don't think that would be true. ~~~I went to nearly every session at the last Lansa UC on the ~~~new repository, ~~~and I still don't completely understand it. Something major ~~~is coming. Yes, that was a energized session. They would not come off of the fact that it is just going to be stored on the IFS and needs the Intel architecture to execute. But I agree, there will be big changes, constant changes. I can also respect the challenge Lansa has. That can't exclude an execution platform from any new major features, and not make some folks feel shorted. VL is for windows. That can be a limiting solution. I am sorry Visual Lansa can not be my focus. The product seems to shine there.
