Jeff: I defer to you being an expert in this area, but I have not had any trouble using SMTP to my phone for monitoring. Sure, I am not a Dr. (I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night), but I have found this to be reliable. As a check, I have one of my AS/400 send my phone a "check in" message twice a day (8am and 8pm) and it is so reliable and immediate, I can set my watch by it. cjg Carl J.
