Mike (and others who have offered support), I appreciate the words. I guess I get a little frustrated at times. Especially when last week I was teaching client/server and server/client architectures at iSeries DevCon, and people were completely enthusiastic about how easy it was to create JSPs that talk to their RPG programs, thus marrying the two technologies without any expensive middleware. I think I made real inroads into removing the mystique surrounding web deployment - people were creating both thick and thin client apps in an hour and a half without using anything but the iSeries, a text editor and good old VAJ. They had cut through the hype and begun to believe in the machine. And then I come back here to the list and find myself defending, of all things, OS/400 command syntax. It's exasperating. > I also think it would help if the system's manufacturer acted as if it > agreed with you. . . . Yeah, that's a different issue, and one I wish I knew how to address, although there seems to be at least some movement in the right direction. Time will tell if it's too little too late. Joe
