Consequences?

Some work, some don't. like MD '/QSYS.LIB/RUBADUB.LIB' is the same as
CRTLIB RUBADUB. (I can't think of one off of the top of my head which
doesn't work.)

Some don't have as much flexibility. Like MD
'/QSYS.LIB/RUBADUB.LIB/MYFILE.FILE' is the same as CRTSRCPF
RUBADUB/MYFILE.

And some have much more flexibility. Like try to duplicate CHGOWN
'/QSYS.LIB/MYLIB.LIB/*' NEWOWN(SSA). You'd have to write a program to
retrieve all objects in the library and run a CHGOBJOWN on each of them.

Booth,

You said:
A member is not a file.

I realized recently on a project that, from an IFS point of view, members
are manipulated like files, while our files are manipulated like
directories. For example, to delete a file in /qsys.lib, you'd actually
use
the RMVDIR RMVLNK(*YES) command to do it. I suppose this is a consequence
of using hfs commands in a non-hfs file system....
