I don't recall if I tried the DSPFD *ALL/*ALL method. If I get a chance I will
run a test to compare the 2 methods.

One thing that I do to speed up the process is break the job up into 9 separate
processes. Each process reads the logical over the QADBXREF file and does a
subset of the DSPFDs based on the first character of the library name. In
other words, Process 1 does all source files in libraries that start with A, B,
and C. Process 2 does all source files in libraries that start with D, E, and
F. etc.

Each process writes to a temporary file and then when they are all done a final
process copies them into a single file.

Using this method helped cut the build time from about an hour to less than 10
minutes (26,500 + members).

Todd,

I'd be curious, have you tried just doing it brute force? I.e., drop
reading through the QADBXREF and just doing the DSPFD *ALL/*ALL
TYPE(*MBRLIST)?
