Leif I'm not looking at quibbling over semantics. It's just the impression I got from your original post was that if security was involved, then security was the only consideration. Convenience, cost/benefit, etc. were all secondary. Perhaps I misunderstood your message, but that's how I read it. That's why I quoted that part of it. The second half is just a continuation of the same theme. You say that you should only dispense with security when you don't need it. I feel you should dispense with security (or employ it at a lower level) if it is too inconvenient (i.e. effects productivity excessively) or if it is too costly. There may be times where it is useful to have security, but too expensive or inconvenient to justify it. Maybe you think that too, maybe not.
