RE: Remote printer driving me crazy!

I do have a couple of questions before offering opinions;
What release of the OS are you on?
Do you do network printing to this printer also (IE:windoz)
How is the JetDirect card configured (if you have one that is configurable)

A quick explanation is it sounds like the AS/400 is "keeping" the printer
after the job is complete; which reverts back to timeout amounts being too
high,
this is only speaking from experience with configurable jetdirect cards,
and with HP or Lexmark printers; but ours had time out issues on both
the AS/400 and the NT network.

As another side note (my age is showing again - I forget which release -
v4r5
I think) you can now set-up your IP printer as a device, and gain more
control than using a remote outq (natively speaking)

Hello all

I am having a problem with an IBM 4232 attached through a JetDirect card as
a remote printer.
It prints my spool files fine, and the files go to a SAV status just like
they are supposed to. But after the file is printed the "Processing" light
on the printer continues to flash until the printer is reset by turning it
off and on again or by pressing the button sequence Stop - Cancel Print -
Start. This printer is used for printing our Pack Lists so we have several 1
to 2 page spool files printing off constantly throughout the day, which
makes it a real pain in the neck having to reset the printer between each
file.

Just to make sure it wasn't something specific to the Pack List print file
I've tried printing other spool files as well with the same results.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?
