I've tried that several times. Deleting all ops console connections, then using the setup wizard to create new ones. However when I get to the form that prompts for the type of function needed, the 'Console Only' radio button is disabled. The wizard won't let me set up a console! Argh! > Since you have only one serial port, then your laptop should > probably not get a whiff of the Control Panel cable. I wonder if the setup wizard attempts to communicate with the AS/400 on the other end of the cable, and enables the function type radio buttons according to what it reads? > Perhaps that's what you had attached when your first configured > the laptop? I first configured the laptop two years ago using IBM's EZ-Setup program which is used to configure a new iSeries system. Since that time I've upgraded Client Access to a newer release, so my older version of EZ-Setup refuses to run, unless I uninstall Client Access, first. Thanks, Nathan M.
