RE: Faxing Overlays

Mike,

I think you're going to have your best luck with a combination of what's
been said by me and others in posts:

1. DPI adjustments (the ibm printer 'thingy' has several different settings
or maybe even different drivers for different dpi - ymmv) to fix the print
quality of the overlay over fax.  faxes are very low dpi on average.  don't
go by the way it looks when printed strait to a laser printer - they don't
compare.  there should be a relatively happy medium between fax distortion
and dpi quality.  also, avoid shading as much as possible(halftone, etc).

2. the offset parameters for the overlay - to move it left/right up/down
over the spooled output.

3. adjusting the size.  fax images rarely transmit at the same size as they
print strait to a laser.  during testing you may have to adjust individual
column widths and lengths and overall image sizes to make it print properly
over your spool output.

 I'm not familiar with the capabilities of MS Pub, but usually the simplest
of graphics programs produce the best overlays - something like
paintshop-pro (i think it's still freeware).

- using a combination of these tips, you should get it to work right
eventually - but it's trial and error - it may take you many many tests to
get it to line up everywhere.
