The following messages still show in QSYSOPR msgq as unanswered although
they were all answered with a D by the user (programmer) three hours ago:

Decimal-data error occurred (C G D F).

Are the messages still showing as unanswered in QSYSOPR msgq because the
programmer dumped the job? And anytime this happens
I am going to have messages that look like they need answers?

Bryan,

One question is, have you checked the QHST log to make sure it does not
disply an unanswered message?

My experience has been that the only messages that get left out there are
ones from a job that was cancelled. QHST should show two messages for each
message requiring a response - once initially and once again when the
message is replied to. To my knowledge there is no way to actually
associate the two messages together except for their text and originating
job. Is it possible that the job is issuing the same message more than
once? If you find responses with a 'R' this can be very typical.
Therefore you would have to check QHST for all occurences within a
timeframe and then determine if a answer was really unanswered.
