This is either very, very good, or very, very bad.

I *love* the fact I can now set up an account with "No Mail" even if I
don't' use a newsgroup. There's been times I wanted to post a question at
home but haven't had access to my work e-mail, so had to set up my home
e-mail to the groups to be able to post, then get a ton of messages, and
have to unsubscribe, etc... This is great!

My main concern, however, is that newsgroup e-mail farmers may find out
about this newsgroup and farm my e-mail. I set up a spam account primarily
to be used when I post on newsgroups. If you post an e-mail to a public
newsgroup you are guaranteed to get tons of spam. Been there, done that,
got the lunch meat.

Regards,

Jim Langston

Folks:

I'm pleased to announce that MIDRANGE-L is now available to be read as a
newsgroup!

Point your favorite newsreader to
news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.hardware.ibm.midrange and read to your
hearts content.

For those of you who do not have a news client that understands the news
url, the servers name is news.gmane.org, and the newsgroup is
'gmane.comp.hardware.ibm.midrange'.

You still need to be subscribed to the list in order to contribute, but you
can set your subscription options to "No Mail", so you do not receive each
individual messages.

If MIDRANGE-L is handled well enough, I'll probably start offering other
lists as newsgroups also.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me privately.
