Hi Brian,

Sorry I cant give specifics.

My comments on what a used as400 is worth today is based on the lessor
telling the lessee that they could keep their loaded v5r1, 500 interactive
cpw 720 for $8000. Other info is less concrete. CE on site for the day
saying the 720 is worth $4000, the prices on ebay dropping drastically over
the last 6 months, IBM moving the system in the linux direction which will
need a lot more cpu.

Hope this helps,

Steve Richter

Hi Steve,

Yes, $10K will effect cash flow but bottom line, uncle sam will get half of
that anyway.

Most of the used 170s I've seen on ebay and elsewhere are pretty much
low-end, stripped-down boxes without the LPPs required for development. It's
the size of this box and the availability of the LPPs that make this deal
seem attractive to me.

Can you supply me with some references as to where to look for these
systems?

Kind regards,

Brian

10K is a lot of money. Based on what I have learned recently about the
market value of used as400s, I would contact leasing companies and ask what
they want for 400s coming off their lease.
