If you want to IPL the system at a certain date/time
Use the power on/off scheduler

GO POWER from the command line
And add an entry for what you need.

Not sure about why the sysval would change though ? <scratching head>

Subject: SYSVAL QIPLDATTIM

I set this system value to IPL the box (which was double checked to be in
normal mode) at 10pm last night. Because this is the first time I've tried
this, I double checked the sytstem at 10:30pm and it's a good thing I did.
It did not IPL and the sysval was reset back to *NONE. There are other ways
that I can accomplish the same task, and that's not what I'm interested in.
I would like to know if anyone knows what happend and why?
