Some email servers also have a white list. This lets you put the IP address in of server you know are open relays, but because of politics, you must accept mail. Note: Politics in this case means "Yes, you don't know how to run a decent mail server, but you are a customer and I like your money...so I will accept mail from you". What I usually do in this case is white list them, but offer to help them out. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Chuck Morehead Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 6:00 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: 554 SPAM-Relay detected Nathan, Try http://orbz.org/ I believe they send an email to postmaster@yourdomain.com, assuming that you have a postmaster email address set up. Sort of amusing, sort of annoying... I have a friend that works for a major healthcare group (hospitals, clinics, etc.) in the state. This week they started using this list to block potential spam. Their in-coming mail dropped off dramatically. Even other major organizations were blocked, and all mail from the largest DSL provider in the area (SW Bell) was too. I haven't heard what they are going to do yet. Chuck ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nathan M.
