Jan, It is funny that you mention this! I have recently been estimating the value of the list as well. I have attracted more attention on the Midrange-L from incorrect postings than legitimate questions. It seems frustrating when a person can search IBM, the Midrange archives, etc, etc... and not find any information. Then actually take a chance at posting a question and risk being lectured about proper content, format, subject line, so on and so forth... What is more frustrating is with all of the previous information correct and legitimate, as pertaining to this list, a posted question go unanswered while one watches a day long thread about html/reply etiquette! One who may go back to lurking ;) Kyle <--- snip ---> Looking at the collective knowledge on this list, I tend to get more 'working knowledge' regarding certain LICPGM's and other products here than from the originators of the product. This includes the 400/Series. Defect support, tips and techiniques here are of inestimable value! May this forum only go from strength to strength! Once the true value and capability of this has been identified, then this forum will eveolve into things such as desired by jt, et al: where we assist with the documentation on LICPGM's and product contribute to redbooks and redpieces identify shortcomings in existing documentation (check the questions, identify enhancements to documentation) produce 'Dummy' guides to the 400/Series (HOWTO's for the iSeries). This would assist newbies, old hands on new turf and plain old simplify many things for others. Not to start a new thread, but I am sure that most here are in agreement!.
