Have I had some >misconceptions of mine changed here, you bet. Have I agreed to disagree with >others at times, yup. > See, that is why I wanted some idea of what counted as arrogance. Because, I've seen guys here argue back and forth about stuff pretty heatedly, but I didn't know when it counted as arrogance. Like, I agree with Al Barsa on very many things dealing with the iSeries, but we have some basic disagreements about what we think IBM's marketing can do. So if we talk about green screens we might both be "humble" but I guess we'd hit "arrogant" in a hurry if we were talking marketing. And I just don't think either of us is teetering on the edge of agreeing with the other. ;-) But I could have sworn I've seen "newbies" show up and ask questions and get a slew of answers posted, including source code. So what is the arrogance? I don't recall people posting, "That question isn't worthy of my attention" or some such. I don't recall anyone ever being turned away or insulted for asking even simple questions. Did I miss those posts? So I guess the arrogance comes in when I feel my opinion is more accurate than other people's opinion. Well, that would put me near the top of the arrogance tree. I post from my point of view, and I believe in it or I wouldn't be posting it. I am fully open to some other arrogant keyboard owner pointing out all my flaws from my waistline to the fact I like Java as much as RPG. So, I'll be looking for some specific examples of when my arrogance was blowing off a new guy who wanted to find a way to edit source code or something. >-Walden > -- Chris Rehm javadisciple@earthlink.net And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart... ...Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
