And a LOT of us users at midrange dot com lists have trouble posting to right list & keeping to the topic, but if you look at other lists ... say http://www.topica.com/lists/eThesis for example ... there are a LOT of people out there who are incapable of assigning a subject title to a post that has any relevance to the content, and for example http://www.techrepublic.com/index.jhtml MANY people are quite blinded by various agendas, so we've got what passes for the best of several worlds here, as well as the usual. Even though there is some message on bottom of many screens about the search engine not working completely, it is working satisfactorily for me at midrange dot com archives. To be sure, I access BPCS-L archives 20-50 times for every one time I access the archives for a non-BPCS topic & for strictly AS/400 questions, I look at the News/400 archives (not recently but historically) about as often as I look at midrange-L archives. My point is that the search engine works pretty good at the archives & there's lots of good stuff there. Perhaps to help newbies we should put something in the midrange FAQ on efficient ways to use the archives search engine. MacWheel99@aol.com (Alister Wm Macintyre) (Al Mac)
