We had an issue when going from V4R4 to V4R5 on our 720. The alternate IPL source was TAP01. It started reading the CD then just stopped. It took me and two people at IBM 4 hours to figure it out. They even came in and replaced the CD drive. We did a manual IPL and when into DST to change it. I still don't know why it was set that way since I loaded the OS when the machine was shipped. I truly believe it looked at CDROM first. Maybe it looks at the first available device ???
