I don't think it's degraded to an argument -- it's still a discussion based on differing experiences, frames of reference and opinions. I also think there's a huge difference between types of languages and types of architectures. Every few posts someone will provoke Joe, Brad, or Leif or someone to unveil another aspect of application or infrastructure design. I've learned a lot of useful things in the past few days. Most of the dozen or so lengthy threads spawned by the original CFINT lengthy thread (or whatever started this) should be over in NonTech, but still relevance is a matter of point of view. I could give a damn about DST passwords on V5R1 though I know they're not irrelevant. -Jim James P.
