For us, there is no compelling "business" reason to remain on V4R5 OR move to V5R1. I am basically asking if the OS is stable enough to move to. The new machine comes configured with V5R1 and I'll get through the negotiations a lot quicker if I can leave it the way it is (I'm not in the U.S.). I'm basically looking for anything that dramatically changes in V5R1 or any pitfalls that anyone on this list has actually run into with V5R1 (the only thing I've seen are many PTF's). They are very hard to get here (iPTF doesn't work). Thanks in advance, Jose Amable Rodriguez Dominican Knits, S.A. WHY do you want to move up? I'd never look to load anything onto a production machine until there is a compelling business reason to do so. If you're running fine on V4R5, stay there. If you NEED the enhancements of V5R1 (Linux, LPAR on single processor, etc.) then you need to upgrade, but until then... -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516)627-3800 x11 WaldenL@TechSoftInc.com http://www.TechSoftInc.com
