Jose,

I'd actually ask the reverse question. WHY do you want to move up? I'd never
look to load anything onto a production machine until there is a compelling
business reason to do so. If you're running fine on V4R5, stay there. If you
NEED the enhancements of V5R1 (Linux, LPAR on single processor, etc.) then
you need to upgrade, but until then...

Subject: RE: V5R1

Hello to all,

I am wondering if anyone can shed some light as to disadvanteges to
upgrading our OS from V4R5 to V5R1.

We currently have an AS/400 9406-600 running V4R5 and are upgrading to an
entry level 820.

Has anyone had any "bad" experiences with V5R1. Our shop basically uses and
ERP system and heavy database (ODBC) reporting.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
