Shannon, When we first went 'online' I would examine probes and port scans etc in my firewall logs that I would see happening almost every day with much worry and concern. A large percentage were from these regions, none got anywere. After a while it became routine to see them and justifies using a firewall and AS/400 (justifys itself in every way!). Most of these scans are attempts to find easy targets and not specificaly aimed at you. For a hacker Its kind of like walking down a street late at night trying the doors and windows on each building as you pass. Locked doors and you move on. open doors on the other hand... With like 11% of all the IIS servers vulnerable and with backdoors already there from the recent worms. It seems to me that there is alot of very easy prey out there and should keep these persons busy for some time to come. .. enjoy Kevin Layne
