Mark, These variables are controlled by the command parameters. If you specify *IMMED, then there is no wait time. If you specify *CNTRLD, then the system will wait for the number of seconds specified in the delay parameter until forcing all jobs closed. During *IMMED processing, or when the delay time has been met, then the system value QPWRDWNLMT will determine how much time the system will wait for those jobs to end. I'm not sure what you mean by 'ignore user tasks', can you clarify? In most cases, you can't watch much because your interactive session will end early in the process. The history log will maintain a clear record of the ending of the jobs in the system. I don't recall much in the way of tasks (processes) ending.
