Unfortunately it's not going to happen. The group who look after the legacy package have simply and categorically refused us access to the database. Instead they will provide flat file extracts of the data as and when we specify. The Oracle database apparently contains > 6,000 tables, and our demands on their time explaining how all these tables fitted together would be excessive. Oh well, I suppose I can live with that although we cannot be sure the extracts are full and correct until we reconcile the eventual JDE outputs back to those of the legacy system. Dave...
