Jon, > Just out of interest, what do you think they would buy you? A gain in perfomance, one would hope ! For one instance (I'll have to talk about it in vague terms to avoid getting myself into too much trouble) I have a server that uses a paritcular *SRVPGM. When the client connects, one of the things that happens is the client exchanges a kind of hash table with the server and vice versa. Now if I have ten more clients connect, guess what, the data segment in each of the 11 instances of the *SRVPGM are practically identical. Given shared AG's could help improve connection start up time (well not for the poor soul who connected first ;-) a great deal. There are other situations where having something similar to a class variable set in a process allowed across jobs instead of them being akin to a instance variable set in a process would make some of the things I've been working on perform better. --phil [ Deleted uuencoded file 'winmail.dat' ]
