While it is true that IBM has access to shared AGs, many developers wish they had never been invented! I had a discussion with Jing Wang from Rochester (the current ILE owner) about 18 months ago and asked if shared AGs would ever be released to the user community. Her take at the time was that she thought it unlikely and that if she had her druthers the darned things would be yanked from the OS because they have caused major problems in most of the system components that have used them. If I remember correctly, the delightful debugger problems that a release or two back forced you to log off/on in order to be able to debug the procedure you were actually using (!!!) was a result of the use of the very feature you lust after.
