I was of the understanding that yes they are the same chip but a chip that
fails to run correctly at 800Mhz is tried at lower MHz levels until it
passes (or ends up in the recycle bin ;-) and then it's listed at that MHz
rating for sale. This is how overclocking works, you run your chip at a
higher MHz rating than it was listed for - or doesn't work if the chip you
have has a narrow threshold between it's 'listed' MHz rating and the failure
MHz rate.
