Hello Mike,

You really should create a pool of spawned jobs and reuse them. That will
make better use of your resources. Also you should provide the errno for
all C API related problems when you ask questions here. I deduce the errno
is 3489. While you can run DSPMSGD CPE3489 to get the message information
this message is not particularly helpful. However, the documentation for
spawn() shows the help for that errno value is:

[ENOSYSRSC] System resources not available to complete request.

The child process failed to start. The maximum active jobs in
a subsystem may have been reached. CHGSBSD and CHGJOBQE CL
commands can be used to change the maximum active jobs.

So do what the Fine Manual suggests and check the number of jobs allowed in
the subsystem. Also check that sockets are being closed properly, files are
being closed properly, allocated storage is being released properly -- all
the careful programmer sorts of things.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
