I think Fast400 from www.tigertools.com <http://www.tigertools.com>  offers
a product to enhance performance of AS/400 - software load balancing or
something of that nature - the demo I tried seemed to do a good job of
keeping the box running well, but you can download a demo and see if it
helps your particular machine set up.
