We have more T1's than Carter has liver pills.

Sites that I've primarily experienced problems on include looking at PMR's.
I hit that several times a day.  Get lots of 'Retain errors' call
800-237-5511.  So I call that number, act like I am opening up another pmr,
end up talking to the duty manager, and finally get an admission that they
are down again.

Which IBM web site? They have quite a few. Personally, I've rarely had
trouble reaching any of them except for problems either with TCP/IP on my
desktop PC itself or due to some intermediate network problem. Because I
run at least a laptop and a desktop system at my desk and can connect ISDN,
DSL or T1 through multiple ISPs through our LAN (or even dialup to two ISPs
through my laptop), I'm almost always able to find a route. The problem
seldom seems to be with IBM's site.

That's not to say I always have success. But it only takes a couple known
failures at a given site before the mind starts to automatically attribute
ANY failure to a similar cause.
