Okay,

        For ASCII interfaces this has an impact !

        For BYSNC and SDLC it depends on how your modems are set, and where
they are looking for clock to be provided. Most modems do NOT look to the
DTE device for clock.  For the most part this field is informational only,
an will show up in the SST Comm Trace.
