Our AS/400 is on V4R4 and I installed Websphere V5R1 on my PC. Does it work? Mostly. After I installed the new Websphere (didn't upgrade, this PC didn't have Websphere installed before) things didn't work well at all, will illegal operations and such, so I went to the Web Update link provided in the Start Menu for it and downloaded the fixes and installed them. I couldn't get the PTFs from my AS/400 since my AS/400 didn't have them. Things mostly work now, but I have found myself saving quite a bit. I think yesterday only 1 time did Code 400 crash where I lost changes made to Code, but it seems to be becoming more stable with time, don't know why. One annoying thing is every now and then when trying to download a file from the AS/400 I would get an error stating that Code 400 was busy with another request, although there was no other request. The only way I found to fix this is to reboot, although logging off and back on might do it also. I'm on Windows NT Workstation Service Pack 6, BTW. The saga continues. I have abandoned the install/uninstall of the V4R5 version. I'm pretty sure the registry still has remnants of things I could not find and remove. I only have a few new weird Windows 2000 behaviors to deal with, and the disk space is only about 500 megabytes less than I started with... So I am going to load V5R1 Websphere. Does anyone know if the V5R1 version of Websphere will function correctly with a V4R4 or V4R5 iSeries 400? Thanks for all your help, Charly Jones 253 265-6244 Gig Harbor
