Joe,

You are absolutely correct ... my mistake.

I omitted source member $BLDCMDW65 from source file #RPGCPY:

*********** Beginning of data ****************************************
 I* ---------------------------------------------------------------
 I            DS
 I                                        1 130 C$T
 I                                        1 130 CMDTXT
 I                                        1  65 CMD65A
 I                                       66 130 CMD65B
 I*
 I            DS
 I                                        1  24 C$INPT
 I                                        1  24 C$I
************** End of data *******************************************

I just reread the manual on the INVITE keyword and I must have been
reading too much into it:

<quote>

If your display file has the delayed write option (DFRWRT(*YES)
parameter on the (Create Display File (CRTDSPF) and Change Display File
(CHGDSPF) COMMANDS), an output operation with the INVITE keyword in
effect causes the delayed output to appear on the display before the
device is invited.

</quote>

I always have interpreted this to mean that I -had- to use INVITE if I
was using DFRWRT(*YES)
