Dan,

We just did a V4R3 -> V4R5 last weekend and it was a "one-step painless
process".

I don't THINK there is any shipping charges as long as you have the Software
Sub.

I have had OS/400 orders take 2 weeks to arrive, and I have had them get
screwed up and take months. Hard to predict that one, but if you make sure
you get explicit confirmations on everything, ship dates, etc, you minimize
the risk.

Our upgrade was a 9406-50S w/384MB and as I recall, it took us about 5 hrs
for the OS/400 upgrade and about 1:45 for C1100450 w/IPL and INZSYS.

We had to do a couple products manually. Surprisingly 5769-CL2 they shipped
us two versions and it's one of those deals where the product number on the
media does not match the "marketing number" 5769-CL3. So this guy came up as
"not on media" when we did the prepare for install, but it really was there,
we just had to install it manually after the auto-install.

There is a DASD planning tool that is part of the upgrade process, but I
think it is part of the code you get after you receive your order. The
Software Installation manual has all the LICPGM sizes so you should be able
to estimate that way.
