A good trick I've used is the CUM, IPL, then the latest Websphere group PTF's - provided it's a later date than the other group PTF's, it seems to contain all the database PTF's, java PTF's etc. At least this was the situation for V4R5 in January - after loading the Websphere PTF's the system didn't seem to pull any off the other group PTF CD's - it may have changed nowadays.
