Booth, if I remember correctly, the IBM code is a prpq and only available thru some IBM consulting service for which you pay (services not code I think). I followed it thru and thought the cost was prohibitive (can't remember the figure). There was also two other third-party sources of SNPT, both for a fee. AFAIK there are no freeware/shareware AS/400 snpt offerings, though someone else may know better . . . _________________________ Regards, Rod Orr booth@martinvt.com Sent by: To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com owner-midrange-l@mi cc: drange.com Subject: Re: Daylight Saving Change - SNTP 02/04/01 13:50 Please respond to MIDRANGE-L Man I wish I understood how to carry through the SNTP. I've got Simon's original clock display program and modified it to make any AS/400 into a really expensive digital watch (watch band not included) but i want to add in the function of checking and fixing the time. See the digital clock screen shot at: http://www.martinvt.com/Code_Samples/Clock/clock.html Anyone that feels an urge is more than welcome to take the program and add the time-synching utility to it and post it on any sites that are appropriate. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ "Greg Day" <greg_day@hotmail.com> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 04/01/2001 11:14 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Daylight Saving Change - SNTP Booth, I have done some preliminary searches (Check the archives) and found that IBM will provide SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) for the AS400, but it is an unsupported product. You get the software, and the source, and some documentation I believe. I have yet to follow through on the deal. The AS400 SNTP can then talk to any NTP server on your network or the internet to sync the time. Again, I haven't yet got the software to test. Hope this helps.
