Hi, Scott and Chris: My suggestion w.r.t. the IP issue: Put a DNS on the network. Sounds like your net's big enough that that should be in place anyway. Get the hosts file out of the picture entirely. Then, it's a matter of one administrative change in order to get the IP portion up and running. The MIMIX portion... well, that's a different ballgame altogether. I've also seen people use a scheduler to push new hosts files out to the public, and other sites actually push desktop icons that point to the "production" server. Depending on your environment, that may be a solution, but any users who modify their own hosts files are likely to be plenty disappointed. Such is the life of administration, though. MIMIX does this for a living. I know they have some additional approaches to this. If you're a supported customer, give 'em a call.
